ONLY 16 500 MORE FANS WERE TO BREAK THE RECORD!
Excitement mounts as DHL Stormers chase all-time Vodacom URC regular-season attendance record
After being called on to turn out in numbers last Saturday to move a step closer to the United Rugby Championship attendance record, and to pay tribute to DHL Stormers Team Manager Chippie Solomon, who passed away earlier this month, Cape Town fans responded in their thousands.
Although the DHL Stormers lost to Irish side Connacht, there is still so much at stake in the run up to this Saturdays final home clash against Glasgow Warriors. A win would provide a significant boost to the DHL Stormers’ Vodacom URC campaign, improving their position on the log and strengthening their prospects of securing a favourable playoff berth, including potential home advantage. They could also move to the top of the standings if they secure five points and Glasgow Warriors fail to pick up any, which would place them in pole position with two rounds remaining before the playoffs.
Beyond this, DHL Stormers fans stand on the brink of setting a Vodacom United Rugby Championship regular-season attendance record this Saturday, with just 16 500 tickets needed to reach the milestone.
As one of the premier and largest modern rugby championship venues, with a capacity of 55 000 spectators, DHL Stadium is regarded as a top-five global rugby stadium for fans due to its capacity, atmosphere, and location in Cape Town.
Fans are encouraged to turn out in full force and help secure a record-breaking attendance in Cape Town, and to show support for the DHL Stormers who have combined strong home performances this season with hard-fought results on the road to remain firmly in the playoff mix.
Tickets are available now at www.stormers.co.za.
