Cape Town, It’s Time to Show Up. DHL Stormers Chase Record-Breaking Crowd and Home Play-Off Spot
Cape Town is being called on to do what it does best, show up. From world-renowned marathons to being named one of the greatest cities on earth, this is a city that leads from the front. Now, the DHL Stormers are inviting Capetonians to be part of something special and make history together.
With two massive home games coming up against Connacht and Glasgow Warriors at DHL Stadium, the DHL Stormers are within reach of breaking the all-time Vodacom United Rugby Championship (URC) regular season attendance record, currently held by Irish giants Leinster.
All it takes? A combined 45 000 fans across the two matches. It’s a target that feels right at home in a city known for turning out in numbers and for turning moments into memories.
The DHL Stormers have built a reputation for some of the strongest home support in the competition, with regular season attendances growing every year since joining the URC. Now, there’s a chance to take that support to another level.
And it couldn’t come at a better time.
The DHL Stormers are currently second on the URC standings, just four points off the top, and firmly in the hunt for a top finish. A strong run in these final home games could see them secure home play-offs, a crucial advantage as the competition heads into its knockout stages.
There’s even more on the line. Despite hosting two Grand Finals in recent seasons, the DHL Stormers have never finished top of the log in the regular season. That could all change in the coming weeks. But they can’t do it alone.
Built on the belief of “In It Together,” the DHL Stormers are calling on fans across Cape Town and beyond to get behind the team, fill the stadium, and be part of a defining moment, not just for the club, but for the city. Because this isn’t just about rugby. It’s about pride. It’s about showing the world what Cape Town is made of.
The DHL Stormers take on Connacht at DHL Stadium this Saturday 18 April, followed by a final home clash against Glasgow Warriors next Saturday, 25 April.
