The 6th Annual Eminent Video Music Awards Npc Announces A Special Celebration Of Creatives
THE 6TH ANNUAL EMINENT VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS NPC ANNOUNCES A SPECIAL CELEBRATION OF CREATIVES
Theme: AFRICAN GLAM
Date: 28 November 2026
Venue: To be announced sooner
The 6th Annual Eminent Video Music Awards (EVMA26) is taking a special approach to this year’s ceremony, placing the spotlight on the talented creatives who work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring music videos to life.
It is no secret that 2026 has been a challenging year for many people, particularly those working in the entertainment and creative industries. Recognising the difficulties faced by creatives, the EVMA team has taken the time to reflect on the current state of the industry and the importance of acknowledging the people whose talent, dedication and hard work continue to shape South African music and visual storytelling.
Following careful discussions, the EVMA team has resolved to make this year’s ceremony a special celebration of creatives, honouring those who have made outstanding contributions to the creation and production of music videos.
In recognition of this year’s circumstances, EVMA26 will depart from its usual public voting process. While audiences have already had the opportunity to vote for their favourite artists and music videos, this year’s focus will be on celebrating and honouring the creatives working behind the scenes, whose contributions are essential to the success of the music industry.
The Eminent Video Music Awards remains committed to its founding mission of restoring dignity and pride to creatives by recognising their value, celebrating their achievements and ensuring that their contributions receive the recognition they deserve.
CELEBRATING LEGENDS AND HUMANITARIAN CONTRIBUTIONS
This year’s ceremony will honour two legendaries figures in the South African music industry: One celebrated for his contribution to Kwaito and South African popular culture, and second one recognised for his contribution to Maskandi music.
In addition, four humanitarian recipients will be recognised for their contributions and efforts to make a positive difference in their communities.
Under the theme AFRICAN GLAM, EVMA26 will bring together musicians, music-video directors, producers, editors, stylists, choreographers, dancers, content creators, industry professionals and other distinguished guests for an evening dedicated to creativity, excellence and cultural pride.
Guests can look forward to a full awards ceremony featuring exciting live performances, special moments of recognition, glamour and an after-party to celebrate the people who continue to make the entertainment industry thrive.
