A playful Johannesburg gathering brought together social padel, personalised fragrance, purple style and the familiar indulgence of Cadbury Ice Cream.
Padel, Perfume and a Pop of Purple: Inside Cadbury Ice Cream’s Pretty in Purple
Johannesburg – Padel, perfume and a pop of purple made for a playful Friday in Johannesburg as Cadbury Ice Cream brought its Pretty in Purple experience to Sass Café in Bedfordview on 16 October 2026.
Bringing together content creators, media personalities and invited guests, the intimate lifestyle gathering offered a refreshing take on a social get-together, combining friendly competition, personal expression and moments of connection with the familiar indulgence of Cadbury Ice Cream.

A little purple, a lot of personality
With purple accents setting the tone, guests embraced the occasion through their personal style, adding their own interpretation of the signature colour.

The celebration brought together a vibrant mix of content creators, broadcasters and entertainment personalities, each bringing their own unique style, energy and personality to the experience. Guests included broadcaster Zanele Potelwa, host of 5FM’s 5 Drive and presenter on S3’s Expresso Morning Show, and actor Kyle Clark, who appears in Netflix’s upcoming South African comedy How to Ruin Diwali: Meet the Parents, premiering on 30 October 2026. Together with fellow creators and invited guests, they helped bring Pretty in Purple to life through shared moments, laughter and a celebration of individuality.

The experience brought together an unexpected mix of activities. A personalised perfumery session invited guests to explore fragrance and individuality, while a friendly padel tournament added a little movement, laughter and playful competition.
But this wasn’t about perfect serves or winning every point. The focus was on having fun, trying something different and enjoying the experience together, whether guests were seasoned players or picking up a racket for the first time.
Between activities, guests had opportunities to connect, capture memories and enjoy the relaxed social atmosphere.

From the chocolate you love to the ice cream you’ll love
At the heart of Pretty in Purple was Cadbury Ice Cream, bringing a familiar kind of indulgence to an experience centred on discovery and enjoyment.
For chocolate lovers, there’s something special about rediscovering familiar favourites in a new form. Cadbury Ice Cream takes the chocolate flavours consumers already know and love and brings them into the world of ice cream, offering another delicious way to enjoy those familiar favourites.

It’s a connection that brings the brand’s message to life: “You already know you’re going to love it.” After all, when the flavours you love in Cadbury chocolate become an ice cream experience, the enjoyment already feels familiar.

“With Pretty in Purple, we wanted to create an experience that brought people together in a fun and unexpected way. From discovering new fragrances to enjoying a friendly game of padel, every element was about finding joy in shared moments. And just as consumers already know and love their favourite Cadbury chocolates, Cadbury Ice Cream brings that familiar enjoyment into another delicious experience,” says Katlego Raboroko, Cadbury Ice Cream Brand Manager.

As the afternoon unfolded, Cadbury Ice Cream added a sweet finishing touch to a gathering that celebrated individuality, friendship and shared experiences.

From discovering personal fragrances to finding a rhythm on the padel court, Pretty in Purple was a reminder that sometimes the most memorable moments come from trying something new, sharing a laugh and enjoying a little indulgence together.
