Reach For A Dream brings joy and adventure to dreamers at Festival of Motoring
Reach For A Dream ignited joy and courage for a group of dreamers at the Festival of Motoring, hosted at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit. Children from the foundation’s Pretoria region Dream Club experienced high-speed laps in supercars, turning their morning into one of pure joy and thrilling adventure.
The Dream Club offered them relief from their often strenuous medical routines. The thrill of the supercars gave the children a chance to connect with each other over something beyond their illnesses. They laughed freely, celebrating their collective courage.
Following a thrilling lap in a luxury supercar, 14-year-old dreamer Mogomotsi Smith, shared her experience: “The best part of my day was going in the super-fast car. The driver answered my questions with so much energy. It’s a memory I’ll keep forever.”
Another dreamer who was part of this exhilarating experience is 11-year-old Mukona Radzilani who was excited by the high-speed lap. She says, “The car was very fast. I had a good time.”
Natasha Mohlala, Reach For A Dream’s Pretoria team leader, reflected on the experience: “For many of our dreamers, owning supercars is something they dream of. The laps around the track is another dream come true. Having them connect over something they don’t see every day is a joy they’ll carry with them for a long time. We’re grateful to the Festival of Motoring for making this possible.”
The group’s experience reminds us of the power that dreams have, to turn nervous anticipation into courage, and fleeting moments of speed into lasting memories of joy. That is the heart of Dream Club, it creates spaces where children can step away from the realities of illness and simply feel the freedom of being children again.
