Johnnie Walker’s AfroExchange Unlocks Access for Emerging Creators Across Music, Fashion, and Art
Hundreds of Africa’s leading and emerging creative forces converge at The Forum, Bryanston, on 11 April 2026 to collaborate across music, fashion, and art
Johnnie Walker AfroExchange is Johnnie Walker’s flagship platform in Africa, a meaningfulinvestment into Africa’s creative landscape by championing collective progress, collaboration and cross-cultural exchange. Now in its second major iteration, the platform continues what it started in 2025 – evolving from a celebration of African creativity to a structured catalyst for it. It builds real collaborations, creates real pathways, and produces real work that outlives the event itself.
Johnnie Walker AfroExchange’s role in culture is the of the catalyst: creating the space, funding the infrastructure, and building the conditions where Africa’s creative forces can genuinely collaborate. The brand does not headline the summit; the creators do. Johnnie Walker makes the room possible.
“Johnnie Walker AfroExchange is our most direct expression of what Keep Walking means in an African context, not individual ambition, but collective forward motion. We are not sponsoring culture. We are backing the creatives who create it. This platform is the proof point that we are truly embedding ourselves in culture, not just observing it, but actively participating in progressing it and amplifying creative voices from Africa onto a global stage.” – Ifeoma Agu, Head of Culture: Influencers, Advocacy & Experiential, Diageo SWC
Johnnie Walker AfroExchange 2026 is focussed on emphasising how collaboration amongst African creatives can spark collective progress. Where previous editions celebrated African creativity, this edition activates it. Johnnie Walker AfroExchange reflects something that has always been true for artists and cultural practiotioners across the content: Africa isn’t catching up to global culture; it has been creating it. The summit spotlights and backs that position, proving the truth Africa’s creatives have always known.
To put it plainly: the ideas, sounds, and aesthetics that move the world don’t start somewhere else and travel to Africa. They start here. Johnnie Walker AfroExchange is where that claim becomes proof, not through conversation alone, but through the work that comes out of the room.
“Africa has always been the source. Johnnie Walker AfroExchange is a tangible expression of how we as a brand are actively responding to that.” – Ifeoma Agu, Head of Culture: Influencers, Advocacy & Experiential – Diageo South, West & Central
Rooted in the belief that new culture forms when disciplines unite, Johnnie Walker AfroExchange 2026 brings together over 500 of the continent’s top creatives in one space; not just to talk, but to co-create, collaborate, and push cultural development forward in real time. Running from 16:00 to 22:00, the day is structured around four intersecting channels:
• A keynote programme featuring globally acclaimed creative pioneers
• Panel discussions that cut into the real tensions shaping music, fashion and art today
• Co-creation labs where participants produce tangible creative outputs in the room
• A closing celebration featuring South Africa’s most defining musical forces
The outcome extends well beyond the evening itself: new genres, new aesthetics, and new ways of working that carry momentum forward. Johnnie Walker AfroExchange will also continue its commitment to opening access through ticket giveaways and partnerships, making sure that knowledge, networks, and opportunity are shared, not gatekept.
