Chomee Wrote Bafana Is Back. They Proved Her Right.
26 JUNE 2026, JOHANNESBURG: When Chomee wrote Tjovitjo (Bafana Is Back) nobody could have known how on the money those words would turn out to be. South Africa has erupted in celebration after Bafana Bafana made history in the early hours of Thursday morning, reaching the knockout stage of the world’s biggest football tournament for the first time ever.

Chomee came back. Bafana is back. And in Monterrey, they made history.
Tjovitjo is a tribute to South African soccer fan culture and has quickly become a soundtrack for national pride and match-day energy, being played at watch parties and across social media.
Chomee, whose real name is Thulisile Madihlaba, has teamed up with Debonairs Pizza to celebrate SA’s soccer culture and bring people together. Her recognisable vocals feature in Debonairs Pizza’s new Cram Crown Crust™ Pizza TV commercial, a natural fit for a song that’s already soundtracking the nation’s biggest soccer moments.

As part of the campaign, Chomee will perform live at a series of Debonairs Pizza “Huddle Park” Soccer viewing parties.
“There’s something special about the way soccer brings people together. I’m so excited to be part of the campaign and bring people together,” says Chomee. “It doesn’t matter where you’re from or who you support, when the game kicks off, everyone shares in the excitement. And right now, with Bafana making history, that feeling is everything.”

Soccer, just more social
The partnership centres around the launch of Debonairs Pizza’s latest innovation, the Cram Crown Crust™ Pizza, a first of its kind in Mzansi. Unlike any other pizza, the stuffed crust twists off piece by piece to be eaten as a snack, its shape inspired by the huddle teams form ahead of major plays. It comes in a unique soccer-shaped pizza box, making it the ultimate match-day meal for watch parties without breaking the bank.

Heart and innovation
“Chomee was the only choice. She embodies the same passion, energy and sense of togetherness that defines South African soccer and Tjovitjo proved that better than anything we could have planned. Together, we’re supporting our national team and bringing people together because #ItsATeamSport,” says Jacques Cronje, Marketing Executive at Debonairs Pizza.
