| The West Coast Way Wildflower & Foodie Tour begins in Melkbosstrand, where a limited group of 18 guests per tour enjoy a traditional West Coast dinner and tour briefing on the first night at The Lodge at Atlantic Beach. Delicious snoek from Yzerfontein, Sandveld potatoes from Lambert’s Bay and freshly baked bread from Velddrif is all part of the welcome dinner where guests get to know each other. The following two nights, guests will enjoy accommodation and dinner at Letsatsi Lodge in Vanrhynsdorp.
The morning of day two, the journey heads north through the Piekenierskloof Pass to Clanwilliam, with visits to Ramskop Garden and the famed Biedouw Valley, known for its vast blankets of wildflowers. Day three, the route continues through Vanrhyns Pass to Nieuwoudtville, where highlights include the Nieuwoudtville Waterfall, and a visit to the biggest quiver tree forest in the southern hemisphere, followed by an exploration of renowned farms with some boasting up to 25,000 bulbs per square meter in August and early September. On the return journey, guests explore Velddrif’s Bokkomlaan, the Postberg section of the West Coast National Park (open only during August and September), the Langebaan Lagoon and dramatic Tsaarsbank, before returning to Melkbosstrand and transferring back to Cape Town International Airport if needed. |
