Solarpop brings a fully playable world to Comic Con Cape Town
Comic Con Cape Town is almost here, and Solarpop is making sure visitors feel the fun from the moment they arrive.
At this year’s Comic Con Cape Town, which runs from 30 April to 3 May 2026, Solarpop is creating an immersive, high-energy space designed to pull fans straight into a world of play.
Pokémon celebrates 30
At the heart of it is a Poké-Party CCCT Edition – a fully interactive Pokémon space where fans can grab their Pikachu hats, learn to play the Pokémon TCG, get the kids face painted, and immerse themselves in a world of Pokémon fun. It’s all about discovery, engagement, and bringing the magic of Pokémon to life for both new and existing fans.
Catan Universe
Right next door is the world of Catan, where pirate, knight and friendly farmer – cosplayers dressed as Catan characters – will guide visitors through the base game and beyond. From first-time settlers to seasoned traders, it’s a chance to experience the depth of the range and explore the many expansions that keep players coming back for more.
Board Game House
Solarpop is also hosting Board Game Home – a space designed to feel just like home, which is also a shout out to Solarpop’s tagline “bring happiness home”. Visitors can play games in the lounge, explore party games in the dining room, or stop by the Spot It! South Africa Bar. Yes, it’s at CCCT that Solarpop will officially be launching the highly-anticipated Spot It! South African edition!
“This is exactly the kind of environment Comic Con is made for,” says Philip Galliford of Solarpop. “We wanted to create more than a stand. We wanted to build a world people could step into, where they can play, discover, connect and experience our brands in a way that brings happiness home.”
Games on the Go Guides
Visitors can also expect to meet Solarpop’s games on the go guides, who will be demoing titles and showing people how they can win prizes along the way.
Unplug Yourself
And for those looking for an even more dedicated tabletop experience, Unplug Yourself will be offering paid play opportunities for everyone from serious gamers to complete newcomers.
“We’re excited to bring these immersive, celebratory experiences to Comic Con Cape Town. We want people to engage with our brands in a way that feels memorable, not just by looking, but by stepping into a fully playable, walk-through world of discovery and enjoyment,” concludes Galliford.
