Unlike earlier long-form TV series, THE CHRONICLES takes a different route. Launched as a promotional short anime series, it began releasing monthly episodes from April 2025 on the official Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG YouTube channel, expanding the backstories of well-loved card themes including Sky Striker Ace, The Fallen & The Virtuous, and Spirit Charmers. The episodes reward longtime fans who know the cards inside out, while also opening the door for new viewers who are drawn in by character-driven fantasy.
Philip Galliford, long time Yu-Gi-Oh! fan and spokesperson for Solarpop, believes that the monthly episode releases feel especially smart for today’s audience. “In 2026, the real strength of Yu-Gi-Oh! is that it’s a world you enter.
