Where Legends Meet News Voices – Gospel Music Spotlight Returns to Johannesburg
There are Gospel Music shows and then there is Gospel Music Spotlight. A brainchild of gospel music legend Jabu Hlongwane, the concept debuted 4 years ago in Bloemfontein.
“Platforming the Gifted” being the tagline of the show, it promises to unveil yet another batch of young and fresh new talent. The 2026 show is coming to Johannesburg on the 3rd of October 2026 at The Emperor’s Palace at The Theater of the Marcellus.
The show will feature an array of top South Africa’s Gospel Artists like former Idol’s winner, Khaya Mthethwa, award winning Sindi Ntombela, Mpumi Mtsweni, Mnqobi Nxumalo. The addition of the powerhouse Nozipho Phiri will add a spirit moving traditional Gospel feel to the show, as will the dynamic Xolisa Kwinana dynamic rendition of Xhosa Hymns. To the Sefela fans, the show is bringing Kgethang Konese and Keke Phofolo. The Legends, led by Jabu Hlongwane himself a singer, songwriter and producer, Mthunzi Namba and everybody’s favourite, Hlengiwe Mhlaba.
The new talent of the Spotlight Artists always brings the excitement that leaves audiences pleasantly surprised and blessed as these new Artists are unveiled one by one in their segment of the show. This year promises to be even more exhilarating as the new talent showcased this year is then best so far.
The night will be filled with amazing Worship and Praise that will take audiences into the end of the year with a refreshed spirit.
This show could not have come at an opportune a time as this time when Gospel music is riding a rising crest in the country. It can be said without a doubt that the talent in South Africa is in abundance as every year brings a new face and talent. Gospel Music Spotlight will showcase ten of them this year. The evening promises far more than a concert. It promises a night that will not be forgotten anytime soon .
